Very good local barbecue. The staff is very friendly. Pricing is quite inexpensive and the portions are large. I'd recommend this place.
To be fair, we ate hear following the Great American Solar Eclipse, August 21st.
We only stopped here 1 time, so in our opinion, this is a good, not great BBQ restaurant. We both had pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans and mac & cheese. The pork was tender, not fatty but could've had more flavor. The mac&cheese was a tad mushy, and the baked beans were supposed to have pork in them, but it was hard to tell.
The cost of all of this was $35, so not to bad.
There was a 40 minute wait, not because of the number of people, because of the staffs ability to put a groups name on the list and clear tables to get people in. Seems like a management issue to me.
The atmosphere was great and decor matched what they were selling.
Family owned, and worth a try, I'd say.
As to the food, my wife and I order the pulled pork sandwich and homemade chips and my daughter order the steak special (2 5oz with two sides, we split the steak). Steaks were ordered Medium Well, and we got a variety of Well, Medium well, and Medium through the cuts. The pulled pork was good but could have been shredded or pulled thinner.
This place was a 5 star last night and a 1 star tonight. Food last night was great. Pork was moist and flavorful last night. Tonight dry and tasteless. Bbq burger last night was so good crew member that ate it said they wish they had ordered 2.. tonight did not take but one bite and said it was nasty. Mac and cheese was thick and flavorful last night tonight thin and soupy. Cooking crew last night was a great... tonight needs to be fired.. giving 3 stars because the potential is there and wait staff was good.
Great find just off the beaten path. Only a mile from the Hwy Exit and well worth the drive. Ribs are great! Local BBQ with authentic pit and sides. Definitely will be back!
We ordered and had to wait 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The forks arrived first, no other silverware and no napkins. Good our food, Still no napkins has to flag the waitress down to get them.
Went to the restroom, there are two unisex restrooms and the one I went in was rough.
Overall the food was good, price was fair, service not so good, maybe because of the solar eclipse, not sure.
The restaurant is very charming, especially the room with the fireplace. Annette is a great server!
